Chairman's 2021 New Year's Message

     Hello everyone! The pace of 2021 is getting closer and closer, and I would like to extend my best wishes for the New Year to everyone in Beijing!

2020 has been an extraordinary year. In the face of the sudden new crown pneumonia epidemic, we interpreted the great love of the world with the supremacy of the people and the supremacy of life, and wrote the epic of fighting the epidemic with unity and perseverance. In the days of overcoming difficulties together, there are the heroism of going retrograde, the tenacious and unyielding perseverance, the common responsibility of hardship, the heroic and fearless sacrifice, and the feeling of watching and helping. From white-clothed angels to people's soldiers, from scientific researchers to community workers, from volunteers to project builders, from ancient old people to the "post-90s" and "post-00s" young generation, countless people have gone to the mission with their lives, protected the sky with their love, gathered the trickle-down power into a majestic force, and built a copper wall and iron wall to protect life. One by one, the figures who have not turned back, the relay that has been linked again and again, and the touching scenes vividly show the great anti-epidemic spirit. Ordinary makes great, heroes come from the people. Everyone is amazing! Condolences to all the unfortunate patients infected! Hats off to all ordinary heroes! I am proud of the great Motherland and the people, and proud of the national spirit of self-improvement!

Hardship shows courage and perseverance, grinding begins to succeed. We have overcome the impact of the epidemic, coordinated epidemic prevention and control, and achieved significant results in economic and social development. The "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" came to a successful conclusion, and the "14th Five-Year Plan" was comprehensively drawn. The construction of the new development pattern has been accelerated, and high-quality development has been implemented in depth. China has taken the lead in achieving positive growth among the world's major economies, and it is expected that the GDP will reach a new level of trillion yuan in 2020. Grain production has won the "seventeen consecutive abundance". Major breakthroughs have been made in scientific explorations such as "Tianwen-1", "Chang'e-5", and "Striver". The construction of Hainan Free Trade Port is booming. We have also resisted severe floods, and the vast number of military and civilians have worked together to fight floods and provide disaster relief, and strive to minimize losses. When I visited 13 provinces, autonomous regions and cities, I was pleased to see that everyone carefully and meticulously implemented epidemic prevention measures, raced against time to resume work and production, and went all out to innovate and create.

In 2020, we will make great historic achievements in building a moderately prosperous society in an all-round way, and achieve a decisive victory in the decisive battle against poverty. We launched a general offensive on the fortress of deep poverty, gnawing the hardest "hard bones". After eight years, nearly 100 million rural poor people under the current standards have been lifted out of poverty, and all 832 poor counties have been lifted out of poverty. Over the years, I have traveled to 14 contiguous poverty-stricken areas across the country, and the enthusiasm of the villagers to move mountains and the dedication of the vast number of poverty-relief cadres often come to mind. We must also firmly grasp that Qingshan will not relax, work hard in a down-to-earth manner, strive to draw a magnificent picture of rural revitalization, and steadily advance towards the goal of common prosperity.

This year, we are celebrating the 40th anniversary of the establishment of Shenzhen and other special economic zones and the 30th anniversary of the development and opening up of Shanghai Pudong. Standing on the shores of the South China Sea and the gorgeous Huangpu River, people have mixed feelings, the first pilot has become demonstration and guidance, and exploration and innovation have become innovation leadership. Reform and opening up have created a miracle of development, and in the future, we will deepen reform and expand opening up with greater boldness, and continue to write more "spring stories".

The avenue is not alone, the world is one family. After a year of ups and downs, we have a deeper understanding than ever of the significance of a community with a shared future for mankind. I have had many phone calls with new and old friends in the world, attended many "cloud meetings", and talked about working together with one heart and uniting to fight the epidemic. There is a long way to go in epidemic prevention and control. People around the world should join hands and work together through thick and thin to dispel the haze of the epidemic as soon as possible and strive to build a better home on earth.

2021 marks the centenary of the Communist Party of China. The 100-year journey has been magnificent, and the heart of the early 100 years has been strong for a long time. From Shanghai's Shikumen to Jiaxing's South Lake, a small red boat carries the great trust of the people and the hope of the nation, crosses the rapids and dangerous beaches, passes through the stormy waves, and becomes a majestic giant ship leading China's steady and far-reaching journey. With a great heart for a thousand years, it is just a century of brilliance. Adhering to the people-centered approach, always maintaining our original aspiration and keeping our mission in mind, riding the wind and waves and sailing away, we will surely be able to realize the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

Standing at the historical intersection of the "two hundred years", a new journey of building a modern socialist country in an all-round way is about to begin. The journey is long, but there is only struggle. Through struggle, we have overcome difficulties and walked through thousands of rivers and mountains. We will continue to struggle, move forward bravely, and create more brilliant!
